20 Nov '10- Botal!

The second rendition of the Bottle. These are the designs I'm happy with it. They are what you get when you go slightly beyond the first draft and push a little more to see what will happen :)

19 Nov '10- Bottles

I took a photograph of a bottle in the sunlight and it was lovely and i wanted to work with the shape of a bottle. It is a cliched object and so i was not entirely happy with the outcome of this exploration. The second post which i will put up next is what Im happy with. These explorations are the first draft. Ive realized if you keep digging deeper and trying more, you eventually reach somewhere that you are happy to be! So, see the second rendition of the botal and you will know what i mean.

18 Nov '10- Nosey People and the Waist Coat

I had drawn this particular composition maybe about 8 months back on paper, I din't know i would be using it later and in this form. So, it is quite interesting to know that even some of my 2 minute drawings are not going to waste.

The treatment was the same. Masking tape for the white parts, bindis for the elements. The arm in this was the tricky part. I dint quite like it in the end and was difficult to add bindis to it. Still figuring this one out.

Also this is the biggest in Tarpaulin size Ive worked on. Took longer and was more interesting!

17 Nov '10- Mr. Eggshells

Although I started this almost a month back, I finished it today. I took eggshells and crushed it and stuck it, now this piece takes at least 3 weeks to dry completely and  it was interesting to see and not touch coz its glue. The glue along with the egg shells makes the piece quite heavy. I decided to stitch the outline and give it bindi features to complete it.

16 Nov '10- My Pink Cabbage Lamp

I've been wanting to this lamp thing for awhile. I had a lamp shade and i want to add strips of cloth to it. So, I finally decided to do it today. I cut strips of plain pink cloth that I had and began sticking. Its more like a Cabbage, coz the more you stick the more you realise you need more cloth! More like patch work. This was just trying something different.

15 Nov '10- The Tissue Family

Its started with some brown paper I had. And I wanted to use tissue paper for sometime so just started with trying to stick tissue on this paper. First few attempts were futile coz i threw all that i made. But then after that just started bunching up the tissues and characters came out of it. It was just for fun but at least something came out of it. These figures are small!

13 Nov '10- Home Locked

Well, I shot some locks this afternoon and since i had some time i thought let me try something with them. I can now see a pattern in the way i make these patterns. Well, it starts with a photograph of something that catches my eye and i know I'm going to use it to create something. Then, it is to start working on the image. It is like playing a game, you know the first few levels and then its all new but familiar. It is getting easier and faster by the day but I'm not sure what to do with these pieces! Maybe i should try printing them and see if they even look good.

11, 12 Nov '10- The Umbrella and The Lotus

The other day I wanted to do something with colour, was tired of the neutrals and the black and whites. And i had this pink so i started with it. I came in the form of an umbrella at first and the lotus. I really wanted to stitch so i put the tarpaulin so i could seal it and it add more colour. Then decided to stitch even the pink. Was fun, just sitting and stitching. Was a good break from all that Ive been working on.

10 Nov '10- Phone Wars 2

The simple video/animation/series of photographs will be up soon :)

9 Nov '10- Phone Wars

2 friends mentioned that some of my photographs in a series could be an animation. I'm not sure what to do with an animation though. But i did a basic animation frame by frame of these photographs. Just tweaking it a bit. Will be up soon.
