27th, 28th May '11- Blurrry

I love blurred images or like to use it alot. I like mystery and I like that with blurred images you are not sure of what it is and its like a game. So while I was shooting this it struck me why don't I blur it at the camera stage. It Is more fun and I can get exactly the look i want. So i played around with the focus and got these blurred but fun photos! 

25th to 26th May '11- Woman Framed

So, I made these frames of  red bindis. It was very time consuming and I ran out of bindis so had to use all different sizes to finish it. All I knew is I wanted a frame of bindis. I also had figured that at some point I want to do a photo shoot with this bindi frame as a prop. So, in the meanwhile I just sketched a red woman- I've realized I use a lot of red. I wanted her to be cool and Indiany so I gave her a bindi, red lips as always and a bow in to make her maybe contemporary but still classic or like a village woman ? 

23rd , 24th May- Red Lips and the Spaceship

I was looking at some of David Hockneys work and I suddenly felt inspired to do something. I know its nothing like his work but atleast i did something! The first few designs came out spacey and futuristic ish. The last few ones; obviously i deviated towards patterns. Was a fun filled exploration in space! Oh and the Lips because the painting that i used off mine were off lips! Not sure if you can spot it!

19th to 21st May '11- Complicated Collage

 

So these 2 collages had more work than you think. First i painted some old book pages. Just was in the mood. Then i ripped them apart, then mixed and matched and finally stuck them on.

The first red one is titled 'People to people' Its people to people facing, its about relationships you have with different people. With some you show your full self, some half, some back but we all are part of the same group. The Green one is just what it is a collage. hehe

16th to 18th May- Life in the Toilet

So I wanted to work the other way this time. Like, how i work on the computer when im designing but on paper. So I drew a graphic of a commode/toilet/pot and repeated it a couple of times and then  added some room perspectives to it on paper (the cd sticker paper) and then thought it looked empty so painted within the lines. Was theraputic.

Why the flush and the pot? I don't know. Just thought it would work interestingly and felt like a flush was positive, like your constantly flushing the bad stuff out of your life but you realize you probably will always be in the toilet. hahaha

13th- 14th May '11- You crack me up

I love cut and paste or collage or whatever its called. I know it looks really easy to do but its not that easy. It takes awhile to think of which papers will go with which. Then how to assemble it to resemble something you want. Then when to keep adding stuff and when to stop. Coz in the end it looks like its so simple and took no time and effort. Try it!

Did some more pages in the book, but it is becoming increasingly difficult to handle this book and photograph it. Because it is so old, and when i flip the page, something tears and I'm scared i might tear everything. So thinking maybe for the next part of the book if i should tear the book out but then the charm of the book would go. hmmmm. still thinking how to deal with it!
