28 Sept 10'- White legs today

I know cropped legs can be slightly scary and horrific but i thought it would be interesting to try something out. So if this is spooky, i apologize. Don't mean to be weird and serial killerish! but hoe the light coloured background made it more normal?

27 Sept '10- Legs Yesterday

I used some images of legs i shot and try to make them more modern and mysterious, if that works. There are so many things i can do with these images- that for a few days im going to put up stuff related to the legs. Maybe, completely different styles but using the same medium and subject! Lets see how it goes :)

26 Sept '10 Preview of the white legs shoot!

So, this saturday i did a little bit of work but not enough to upload, so I decided to work this sunday (my day off) instead! A close friend of mine was nice enough to model for me for a trial shoot. We played around with leggings, without legs, bindis. It was a well spent day! Will put up the shoot images sooon! This is just a preview not revealing everything yet!

24 Sept '10- Laziness

Ok, so since my room is my studio these days, it was a total mess. So cleaning it and sorting out papers took all day and i was kinda lazy to do work. So, I thought I'd do something fast and easy on the comp but no work is fast. Anyway, so i took some images i had shot- colourful ones and tried to do something with it using pshop. It came out quite ok. I like the colorfulness and the ambiguity of the image.

23 Sept '10- Locked down!

Well, this morning i dint have much time before i left the house and i knew i was gonna be out all day so I quickly took an old photograph i had taken ages back and just took elements from it and made patterns and used my pshop abilities. Was fast and cool and i love blacks white and greys!

22 Sept- The book of flowers

The day i bought tonnes of Masking tape, I also bought some notebooks. All i knew was dat i want to cover all the pages with masking tape. So, I bunched a few pages together then masked it with the tape like you go round and round with a bandage. So the book was lying- masked, so i drew somethings and then i filled up all the pages with easy light drawings. I guess it was the mood i was in. Still not worked on the cover, have to figure that out yet!

Old Gradual Thing

So awhile back, I worked on this thing. I dont know yet if its complete or what it is, where its going! But anyhow ill talk about the process. So i found this wooden plank at home and i had some random discarded bras. So at that time i was dyeing things with turmeric. So i dyed the Bras. So i had like 5 yellow bras and i dint know what to do with them. So i put it on the plank of wood and poured half a can of yellow asian paints on it. and waited for it to dry. i wanted to see how the paint would dry. but unfortunately the paint developed some cracks. Then, after a few weeks, i poured an entire big bottle of fevicol on it and waited for it to dry for  a few weeks. Now it looks like this and currently acts as a table top in my living room! Not sure whether gonna add something or not or if its finished. Will know soon.

21 Sept' 10- Break the Paper

So, I wanted to change the style a little bit, so this time I tore up some paper then stuck it together with masking tape and turned it over so i could see the cracks.  Then stuck some bindis and drew along. Need to get bigger paper and try it! I like taking things apart and putting them together. It's like i heeled it. Put something that was perfectly normal back into something different but cooler. 

20 sept '10- DIgital ART time?

I wanted to work on something on the computer. So i think i ended up with some digital art/patterns!? I used some images of my work and tweeked them around. Was fun and was good to change mediums for awhile! And played around a little with perspective in the first one! May do some more this week.

18th Aug'10- Light and Easy

Since i wasn't in town over the weekend I did some work the previous day so basically i worked in advance. So after working with tarpaulin i took a break and went back to the coloured tape. I was bundling and bunching all the scraps of left over tape together and it looked quite cool so used that to make simple easy drawings. So basically these paintings are very sticky and i cant put them one on top of the other coz they stick to everything! They are occupying a lot of space in my room. but this was super fun to do.

17th Aug '10- I made a face

I like doing portraits of a face but just one or two features highlighted. I like drawing the hair- always long and the drawing very simple. So, this time i drew it on tarpaulin and then i painted white in by using masking tape. After completing it I drew red lips for her. I think the white shows shes pure, shes there but you dont know who she is, and the red lips well just a little bit of provocation. I like the mystery it brings to the picture. Still working on other drawings.

16th September- Tarpaulin Tuban

Today I tried doing just the turban drawing on the tarpaulin with masking tape. It was very difficult to figure the lines after the masking tape was stuck. Filled a whole tube around the turban with bindis! It took 4 hours just to do that! To remove the protective part of the bindi so it can stick. Felt like a worker at a bindi factory. I wasn't that excited about the outcome but lets see.

15th Sept '10- Tarpaulin Trials

Its the rainy season and if you look pretty much anywhere in bombay you see blue plasticy rubbery material called tarpaulin. It keeps the water out and its cheap so the janta uses it. Ive been wanting to work with tarpaulin for awhile. So I bought some and tried something with it. Its a tricky material to use coz it has this plasticy surface so cant draw on it easily, felt pen doesnt stay, everything goes off. So i tried using pieces of masking tape and i liked the blue and white feel. I also tried the yellow and red tape but that dint work coz you can see the blue throught it. Anyway this is the beginning. Gonna try more sooon!
