When people want you to pretend, you pretend and sometimes you believe your own pretence. And later you realise without those fingers holding your smile, there isn't a real smile. Is this the meaning of the Mona Lisa Smile?

29th March '11- Ripped

Sometimes all it takes is a slight tear for the whole thing to get ripped. And how do you show ripping? well through stretching and pulling and when it has to be done all quietly, inside your head the colours are muted and sober. Here are some inside screaming works. Hope you understand what I mean.

So I tried something new with Miss Grumpy and i think i ruined it! She looks super bitchy now and mean! Hahaha. 

25th March '11- Untitled Yet

Since I was not in town all of last week, I didn't get time to create. Now that Im back I'm not sure where to begin. Did a bunch of trials but none of them worked out. So went on to the computer and created these just to start then engines back again. Hope to create some new work sooon!

10th- 14th March '11- Art Loft- The Dolls Coloring Sorrows Exhibition

The Art LOFT had a one day exhibition of the Dolls/Costumes created for the Kala Ghoda Festival. This was my blue corner with some of the stuff that was worn at Kala Ghoda for the Blue Day. Thank you all who came.

9th March '11- Tarp Cicrles

Wanted to do something light, interesting and fun. Not too much thinking, not too much gyaan, just finger on track pad and produce works :) Good to know i can still do that, make something out of parts of photos.

8th March '11- Matrimonial

Too many people I know got or are getting married this year and there are a lot of us who aren't getting married. Was wondering about the whole concept of arranged marriage. Since, I was working with Newspaper I  used the matrimonial page of the paper. Covered it with tissue so you get a few words from the ads in the background. But this whole concept of half truth, revealing only some information and the tissue being the metaphor was what i used for this work. Also both the man and woman in the ad are pure, white, clean and as good as they can be. But is that the truth! Who knows!

7th March '11- Miss Grumpy- Work in Progress

So I wanted to try something similar but something different. I wanted to use newspaper as canvas but make it sturdier. So I did manage to make it much tougher and stronger. Also for the Imagery I wanted to use cloth. Just took awhile to figure how the cloth flows and how to make it stay! Well, this is a work in progress, currently it is drying as i doused it in glue! I don't know if it will improve or completely kill the girl but we will see. Will put up final pictures once it is dry!
